This was a very popular design in a limited edition run at Chicken Boots for the Egg Crate subscription box. And it is hands down of all the things we ever made my favorite design to sew. It is pictured in black with a roller skate on the front in the images.
The Travel Bag Measures:
Closed: 9 1/2"wide x 9 1/2" tall (24 x 24 cm), 3"/7.6 cm deep from front to back.
Open: 9 1/2" wide x 19 3/4" long (24 x 50 cm)

Suggested Materials:
Main Fabric & Contrast:
Medium weight, water and stain resistant fabric is preferable. Wipeable and/or washable. Examples include: Waxed Canvas, Cordura, Nylon, Laminated Cotton, Oilcloth. The same fabric can be used for all pieces as long as the Elastic Pocket can be drawn up with elastic.
Vinyl
Any see-through material can work well here. 8-12 gauge vinyl; opaque or clear. If you don’t need your pockets to be transparent, you can substitute for fabric or mesh.

There is a diagram showing what is Main and what is Contrast in the photos.
Main Fabric:
44" - 54"/112 - 137cm wide
(22"/ 56 cm minimum length).
Less for non-directional prints.
Contrast Fabric:
44" - 54"/112 - 137cm wide

Fabric for Bias Binding
You need 4 3/4 yds/4.3 m of 1 3/8"/35 mm wide bias for binding. A fat quarter will be more than enough.

The Look
The Pink sample was made with waxed canvas from Al Frances Textiles. The cat print is from Hart's Fabric.
The Blue vegetable sample was made using Laminated Cotton from Splash Fabric (Main and Contrast).
