Cropped Jacket by The Assembly Line

Fabric: Wovens (I used a flannel)

My mods: None (besides adding 1/4" extra seam allowance so I could flat-fell the seams).

Description: Cropped zipper front jacket with gathered bodice and convertible collar.

Notes: This was a really fun sew! I was close on fabric so I couldn't match how I would have wanted to once it was all said and done. I ended up binding finishing the facing and interior waistband edge just because it's a nice contrast and look great. 

I love the way this fits. I'm not usually making a lot of cropped anything but I needed some fun things to go with my new high-waisted pants I've made recently.

One thing I did that I think makes this fit really nice is utilizing flat-felled seams for the construction. Since it's a flannel, it had the danger of grabbing on to my clothes already, and the flat-felled seams make it lower profile on the inside. If you want those benefits but don't want to flat-fell, you could top stitch your seams down instead.
