A PDF Sewing Pattern to make a Zip Double.
The Chicken Boots Zip Double is secure, portable, and lightweight and being able to see inside keeps your project visible and at the front of the crafting list. A secure project bag takes the worry out of losing any stitches or pieces of your craft project and with a zippered closure your craft will be safe! The pocket may be on the inside, but you can see what's inside of it from the outside.
This bag was an instant best seller. Named for being a zippered version of, and a bit larger than, the Double Double. Crafters liked the zipper keeping their project safe but also having a lightweight bag they could literally throw in the car/canoe/camper.
This sewing pattern also comes with two additional views: All Fabric with exterior pocket (View B), or Fully Lined with exterior pocket (View C). You can make any View in all fabric or a combination of vinyl or other style fabrics.

Fabrics and material:
Most medium weight wovens such as quilting cottons or heavier like canvas will work well for the Zip Double. If you are using vinyl, the bag pictured was made using 12 gauge matte (non-glare) vinyl. You can find vinyl at most major fabric stores. When selecting a vinyl, you're looking for a heavy yet supple material that won't crack with age. It is very affordable so get the best you can find.
(The bird print is a lighter quilting cotton, the Yarn print is linen/cotton canvas printed by Spoonflower, the Blue with floral pocket is a 10 oz. waxed canvas (solid blue) with Liberty of London Tana Lawn floral print that was lined with fabric on the pocket.
This bag doesn't quite stand up on it's own unless made in a stiff material or filled with goodies.
(Combine yardages if you're making yours all in one material)
Yardages will accommodate one-way or allover prints, but allow extra for centering motifs.
Notions:
You can purchase zipper by-the-yard HERE. By using this kind of zipper, you can put the top on the FOLD for both the Outer and Lining pieces, and sew in the zipper on one side.
* A fat quarter of fabric can yield 5.5 yds (5 m) of bias binding that measures 1.375" (35 mm) wide.
